The ugly truth behind ujala asianet film awards 2012 is asianet film awards a marketing trick?

The much hyped Ujala Asianet film awards was conducted in grand style at dubai in presence of the bollywood superstar Sharukh khan and malayalam big guns Mohanlal and Mammootty.As expected both Mohanlal  and Mammootty bagged the prizes for the best actor and golden star respectively not considering the excellent performance by Salim Kumar,Anoop Menon and other stalwart artists.The reason also everyone knows,because if salim kumar gets the award for the best actor either mammootty and mohanlal will not be getting any awards and obviously they wont be coming for the show.So the channel will not be able to pull the crowds.Last time mammootty got the best actor award and Mohanlal got the special award.Naturally for the next year,Mammootty will get the best actor award as Mohanlal got this time.The hardwork of other artists behind the camera is neglected as always.

Why do we need these kind of awards?Why do we need to encourage these kind of channels?I am sharing a picture posted in facebook regarding this matter

Arabiyum Ottakavum P madhavan nairum in oru Marubhoomi kadha is the new film directed by Priyadarshan and

starring Mohanlal,Mukesh,Bhavana,Innocent,Lakshmi Rai,Suraj,Nedumudi venu etc.The film was released on december 16th.

Review

The film Arabiyum Ottakavum in nut shell is a comedy entertainer.If you are looking for a solid story you cant find one!The film started off with Sreenivasan’s narration and the first 10-15 mins of the film was the exact copy of a Hollywood film Serenddipity(after all it is priyadarshan,the master of copying:-P).The film has tons of situational wits. The duo of Mohanlal-Mukesh has indeed rocked the audience.Bhavana also has done well and lakshmi rai performed well in her cameo.The songs and bgm was also nice.The drawback of the film is infact the climax and the little suspense or twist!Towards the end the film is little dragging but anyways still you can find a lot of witty expressions and jokes. Overall the film is a clean comedy entertainer and I would give a rating of 6.5/10.What are your view?do comment

Venesile vyapari is the new malayalam film directed by shafi and starring megastar Mammootty.The film was released on dec 16th.

Here goes a  review by an orkut mammootty community member

 " If you expect a mayavi type film from Shafi; or a Classmates type film from James Albert; you will be disappointed"
But this is a clean family entertainer. with some comedies, action and drama.
Songs are average; except "Kannum Song" which cheered the fans.
Mammootty as usual did his best; Suraj, salim, Jagathy , Kavya are OK..
Poonam had nothing to do except that song.
Script was ordinary; Direction was OK. lacked pace here and there.
Overall I give 6.5/10"

IFFI 2011 AWARDS PANAJI,GOA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF INDIA AWARDS 2011 COLUMBIAN FILM WINS GOLDEN PEACOCK AWARD

The 42nd International film festival of india concluded in december 3 with the columbian film Porfirio getting the golden peacock award for the best film.The award was given by south indian superstar Surya to the film director Alejandro landes and producer Fransisco Alijure.

It was a proud moment for the malayalam film industry as Salim Ahammed's "Adaminte makan Abu" won  silver peacock,the special jury award.Adaminte makan Abu was infact the only indian film which get nominated.

Best director:Asghar farhadi for the iranian film nadir and simin

Best Actor:Sasson Gabay

Best Actress:Nadezhda markina

Beautiful is the malayalam movie written by Anoop Menon and directed by V.K Prakash starring Jayasurya,Anoop Menon,Meghna raj.The film was released  on 2nd December 2011 and has so far collected positive responses.The main attraction of the film is indeed the excellent camera work,screen play and of course superb performances from Jayasurya and Anoop Menon.

 Here goes the review of this film from ma brother Suhail who watched it today

saw beautifull…
the movie is jus simple n beautifulll…..wid awsome visuals…
superb picturisation n performances from anoop menon n jayasurya is d 

main highlight of the film…
n the directin too…
although the movie is bit slow paced..it never lagged anywre….n has got  few feel gud moments at places…. And the unexpected twist dat came wid the climax makes the film even better…..n the way film ended with the conversation b/w anoop menon n jayasurya was jus awsome… altogether it’s a gud film to watch…..go for it guys…it wont disappoint…
