EN010 101 ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS – I

 Teaching Scheme                                                                                         Credits: 5

2 hour lecture and 1 hour tutorial per week

Objectives

·         To impart mathematical background for studying engineering subjects.

MODULE  I  (18 hours)    -      MATRIX

 Elementary transformation – echelon form – rank using elementary transformation by reducing in to echelon form – solution of linear homogeneous and   non – homogeneous equations using elementary transformation. Linear dependence and independence of vectors – eigen values and eigen vectors – properties of eigen values and eigen vectors(proof not expected) – Linear transformation – Orthogonal transformation – Diagonalisation – Reduction of quadratic form into sum of squares using orthogonal transformation – Rank, index, signature of quadratic form – nature of quadratic form

MODULE  2  (18 hours)     - PARTIAL DIFFERENTIATION

Partial differentiation : chain rules – statement of Eulers theorem for homogeneous functions – Jacobian –Application of Taylors series for function of two variables – maxima and minima of function of two variables (proof of results not expected)

MODULE 3  (18 hours)     -  MULTIPLE INTEGRALS

 Double integrals in cartesian and polar co-ordinates – change of order of integration- area using double integrals – change of variables using Jacobian – triple integrals in cartesian, cylindrical and spherical co-ordinates – volume using triple integrals – change of variables using Jacobian – simple problems.

MODULE 4  (18 hours)   -   ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

Linear differential equation with constant coefficients- complimentary function and particular integral – Finding particular integral using method of variation of parameters – Euler Cauchy equations- Legenders equations

MODULE 5  (18 hours)   -   LAPLACE TRANSFORMS

Laplace Transforms – shifting theorem –differentiation and integration of transform – Laplace transforms of derivatives and integrals – inverse transform – application of convolution property – Laplace transform of unit step function – second shifting theorem(proof not expected) – Laplace transform of unit impulse function and periodic function – solution of linear differential equation with constant coefficients using  Laplace Transform.

Air Asia has now joined the  fierce domestic air line competition by introducing low cost air ticket with  a base fare of Rs. just 5!They are starting off the low fare from from june 12  for a journey from Bangalore to Goa with total fees coming to around Rs 490 only!

Walter white not dead ? will walter white come back ? breaking bad new season coming ?

Is Walter white really dead? Can he come back? I just show a post in facebook regarding interview with Bryan Cranston who acted as Walter white in breaking bad. He hinted that Walter white may not be dead and might come back!

Here are the excerpts from his interview

“I’m going to ask you, really, seriously, I wasn’t so sure that you died, I really wasn’t," CNN's Ashleigh Banfield said on Thursday night. "Your eyes were open and I thought, ‘what if the police just take him into custody, he gets better, breaks out and just goes nuts?'"

Cranston: “Hey, you never saw bags zip up or anything."

Banfield: “Is he dead?”

Cranston: “I don’t know."

Banfield: “No movie? No nothing? No Walter White ever again?”

Cranston: “Never say never."

Cranston was smirking a little so he was probably just teasing –- or maybe he didn’t want to let down Banfield, who is clearly a super fan of the show.

Bangalore days is the new malayalam movie written and directed by Anjali Menon and starring Dulquar Salman,Nivin Pauly,Isha Talwar,Nazriya Nazim,Nitya Menon,Parvathy.

Review:Saw the movie from EVM Perumbavoor.The movie is getting positive reviews throughout. Although the film is long with almost 3 hours running time the comedies and scenes in between make it engaging to watch. The climax scene was also awesome with a good suspense.Gopi sunder has done his work as usual with his super BGM.About the acting all the actors has done well especially Dulquer with his stylish looks.The cinemotagraphy was good but the songs were average.The movie iscurrently running housefull all over the theatres.Overall the movie is a good watch.

Verdict:Superhit!

#3.Bangalore Days movie clearly entertains all kinds of age groups
with a simple yet interesting storyline never making you check the
time. It is a top to bottom fun filled movie with certain good
message to the society,certain satirical sequences and moreover
with lots to laugh out your brains. Apart from the story lagging a bit
after the interval,which it picks up very soon you have nothing to be
called negatives. Pairing of actors is done perfectectly creating
correct combinations. With very good camera work and direction,
the movie also attains technical perfection. Songs and
Choreography adds up to the merit of this movie. So as a whole its a
very entertaining movie which you never want to miss..

bangalore days poli padam no boring from the start to the end nivin pauly kiddilam comedy.
superb movie. dulquer salman's bike jumps fantastic no kathi in that .climax is also good all the actors thakarthu nivin pauly ,fahadh fasil,and dulquer salman all have equally importance in the story.

Dulquar Salman is back with a bang, and it is his best performance after Ustad Hotel. He shares more screen space in the film compared to Nivin Pauly and Fahadh Fasil. Nivin Pauly got a better screen space in 1st half compared to 2nd half, while Fahad Fazil got more screenspce in 2nd half. Nazriya and Parvathi were good among female leads, rest of the cast are fine. Script And Direction Filmmaker Anjali Menon is best in both the fields- as a director and a scriptwriter. She has become successful in mixing all the necessary elements in the film, which makes Bangalore Days a perfect family entertainer. Slow pace in the second half seems to be unavoidable. a Must watch movie.

This is a well-made film. No character surpasses the other in terms of footage or importance. It's a beautiful sketch with colors of various hues interacting and mixing with each other to paint life on a canvas. I am from Mumbai, moved to Bangalore 6 years back, but it's only today that I fell in love with the city. And yes, loved the way you've read the city and showed us the mirror in which we could see beauty in our otherwise dull and dreary life...Kudos !!

Mr. Fraud is an action thriller movie directed by B.Unnikrishnan and starring Mohanlal.This film was released on 17 May 2014.

The movie starts with a flashback intense scene.Mohanlal was stylish in his intro scene as a singer who shows up for a marriage party and eventually stealing 100 crores from thereafter that he is assigned a task to steal a treasure from a kovilakam in kerala.The film revolves around Mohanlal and his colleagues trying to get into the kovilakam and steal the treasure.

Sathish's Kurups Visuals were good with some mind-blowing scenes.Gopi Sunder has also done his part by giving good bgm but i can say he was not up to his standards.

Mohanlal has done his role well as Mr. Fraud with his stylish looks and dialogues. Among other actors Sidique has done well.

Overall the movie is a good watch for people who love Mohanlal in different get ups and those who want some good actions. For those who love concept movies this is not a good watch.

To Conclude Mr. Fraud is a onetime watch if you don’t think too much!

Verdict: Just Above Average
